Basement Cleanout in Northern Colorado
Years of storage piling up? We clear out entire basements — furniture, boxes, appliances, junk, everything — and leave you with usable space again.
Basements fill up. It starts with a few boxes during a move, then holiday decorations, old furniture, kids’ stuff they outgrew, broken appliances you meant to fix. Five years later, you can’t walk through it. Ten years later, you can’t even remember what’s down there.
Fort Collins Junk Removal and Demo clears entire basements in a single visit. We carry everything up the stairs, sort items for donation and recycling, load our trucks, and leave you with a clean, usable basement. No dumpster rental. No multiple trips. No carrying heavy furniture up narrow staircases yourself.
We’ve been doing basement cleanouts across Northern Colorado since 2015. Whether you’re preparing to sell your home, finishing your basement, dealing with an estate, or just reclaiming lost space — we handle the entire job from first box to final sweep.
What We Remove From Basements
Old Furniture
Couches, recliners, bookshelves, desks, dressers, bed frames, mattresses — even the heavy stuff that doesn’t fit up the stairs easily. We disassemble if needed and carry everything out.
Boxes & Storage Bins
Stacks of boxes, plastic totes, forgotten moving boxes still taped shut. We carry it all out. If you want us to check contents first, we’ll sort as we go — keep, donate, or toss.
Appliances & Electronics
Old washers, dryers, freezers, dehumidifiers, TVs, computers, exercise equipment. We handle proper disposal and recycling for electronics and appliances with refrigerants.
Construction Leftovers
Scrap lumber, drywall pieces, old carpet rolls, paint cans, tile, tools, and leftover materials from projects that never got finished. All hauled and properly disposed of.
Holiday & Seasonal Items
Broken decorations, artificial trees, old lights, seasonal furniture covers, and holiday items you haven’t used in years. We sort through it all if you’d like to keep some pieces.
Sports & Recreation Gear
Old bikes, ski equipment, camping gear, exercise machines, kids’ sports equipment they outgrew, pool toys. If it’s been collecting dust for years, we’ll haul it out.
Why Hire Us for Basement Cleanouts?
We Do the Heavy Lifting
Basement stairs are tight and awkward. We carry heavy furniture, appliances, and bulky items up narrow staircases without damaging your walls or flooring.
Donate & Recycle First
Usable items go to local donation centers. Electronics, metals, and appliances are recycled properly. Only true junk goes to the landfill.
Done in One Visit
Most basement cleanouts are completed in 2–4 hours. Full basements with heavy items may take a full day. Either way, we finish the job in a single visit.
Broom-Clean When Done
After everything is removed, we sweep the space clean. Your basement is ready for finishing, storage organization, or whatever you have planned.

Common Basement Cleanout Scenarios
Preparing to sell: Buyers want to see the full basement space. We clear it out completely so your home shows better and appraises higher. Many realtors in Fort Collins refer clients to us specifically for pre-listing cleanouts.
Finishing the basement: Your contractor needs a completely empty space before framing starts. We remove everything — including old carpet, built-in shelving, and leftover construction materials from the original build.
Estate cleanout: Inherited a home with a full basement? We handle it with care. We can sort items, set aside anything you want to keep, and remove everything else in a single visit.
Reclaiming the space: You just want your basement back. Maybe for a home gym, kids’ playroom, or workshop. We clear decades of accumulation so you can actually use the space you’re paying a mortgage on.
Basement Cleanout Questions
How much does a basement cleanout cost?
Pricing depends on volume and access difficulty. A partially full basement (10–15 items, easy stairway) typically runs $400–$800. A completely full basement requiring multiple truck loads runs $1,200–$2,500+. We give exact flat-rate quotes after seeing the space — no ranges or hourly billing that runs up unexpectedly.
Do I need to sort through everything first?
No — we can take everything as-is. If you want to sort, we’re happy to go through items with you: keep pile, donate pile, trash pile. But if you just want it all gone, point to the basement and we’ll clear it. Many customers haven’t been down there in years and just want a clean slate.
Can you get large furniture up narrow basement stairs?
Yes — this is what we do regularly. We disassemble items when possible (sectionals, bed frames, shelving units) and use furniture dollies and straps for heavy items. We protect your walls and railings during the process. If something truly won’t fit up the stairs in one piece, we’ll break it down safely.
What about hazardous materials?
We can’t take hazardous waste (chemicals, solvents, oil, propane tanks, asbestos). If you have paint cans, we can take latex paint that’s dried out. We’ll let you know during the estimate if anything needs special disposal and point you to the right facility (Larimer County hazardous waste drop-off is free for residents).
How long does a full basement cleanout take?
A moderately full basement: 2–3 hours. A packed-full basement with heavy items and tight stairs: 4–6 hours. Extremely full basements or hoarder-level situations may take a full day. We’ll give you a time estimate with your quote so you can plan accordingly.
Do you donate usable items?
Absolutely. Furniture, clothing, working electronics, books, kitchenware, and other usable items go to local donation centers (Goodwill, ARC, Habitat ReStore). We can provide donation receipts for tax purposes if you need them. Keeping usable items out of the landfill is a priority for us.
