Deck Demolition in Northern Colorado
Rotting boards, wobbly railings, sagging structure? We tear down old decks completely — framing, posts, concrete footings — and leave your yard clean and ready for whatever comes next.
Old decks don’t age gracefully. Wood rots from underneath where you can’t see it. Posts sink. Ledger boards pull away from the house. Nails pop up through the surface. And every year it gets a little more dangerous for anyone who steps on it.
Fort Collins Junk Removal and Demo removes old decks completely — not just the surface boards, but the entire structure down to the concrete footings. We disconnect from your house cleanly, remove every piece of lumber, pull posts and footings, and leave your yard graded and ready for a new deck, patio, or landscaping.
We’ve been tearing down decks across Northern Colorado since 2015. Small 10×10 decks, large multi-level structures, attached or freestanding — we handle them all. Most residential decks are removed in a single day.
What We Remove
Wood Decks
Pressure-treated, cedar, redwood, composite — all deck materials removed. We pull up decking boards, disassemble railings, remove joists and beams, and haul every piece away.
Structure & Footings
Posts pulled or cut at grade, concrete footings dug out if requested, ledger board removed cleanly from house siding. Complete structural removal — not just the surface.
Multi-Level & Large Decks
Second-story decks, wrap-around structures, multi-level designs with built-in benches and planters. We have the crew and equipment for large, complex teardowns.
Attached Structures
Pergolas attached to decks, built-in seating, hot tub platforms, privacy walls, lattice screens — all removed as part of the deck demo. One crew, one price, everything gone.
Deck Demolition Questions
How much does deck demolition cost?
Most residential deck removals in Northern Colorado run $800–$2,500 depending on size, height, materials, and footing removal. A basic 10×12 ground-level deck: $800–$1,200. A large elevated deck with multiple levels: $1,800–$3,000+. We provide exact flat-rate quotes after seeing the deck.
Do you remove the concrete footings?
Yes — footing removal is available and recommended if you’re building a new deck with different post locations, or converting to a patio. We dig out footings and fill the holes. If you’re rebuilding in the same spot, you may want to keep existing footings — we’ll advise during the estimate.
How long does deck removal take?
Small ground-level decks: 2–4 hours. Standard elevated decks: 4–6 hours. Large multi-level or second-story decks: full day. We’ll give you a timeline with your quote.
Will you damage my siding or house?
We take care to disconnect the ledger board without damaging your siding. Some minor cosmetic touchup may be needed where the deck attached (old screw holes, paint line), but we don’t damage the structure. We’ll point out anything that needs attention after removal.
What happens to the wood?
Clean untreated wood is recycled when possible. Pressure-treated lumber goes to approved disposal facilities (it can’t be burned or composted due to chemical treatment). All nails and hardware are separated. Nothing is left on your property.
